Not everyone uses Slack
A lot of businesses run on Google Workspace. Their team communicates in Google Chat. They don't want another app.
If your client lives in Google Chat, send the reports there. Don't make them switch to Slack just to see a chart.
How it works
Chartcastr sends Pulses directly to Google Chat Spaces or DMs. The setup is straightforward:
- Connect Google Chat as a destination in Chartcastr
- Connect your client's data source (Meta Ads, Shopify, Xero, etc.)
- Create a Pulse and select the Google Chat Space as the destination
- Set your schedule
The chart and AI summary appear in the Space on schedule. The client reads it in the same app they use for everything else.
When to use Google Chat
Clients who refuse to install Slack. Some companies have IT policies that restrict third-party apps. Google Chat is already part of their stack.
Small businesses on Google Workspace. Shops, restaurants, clinics, and local businesses often use Gmail and Google Chat by default. Meet them there.
Google-first teams. If the client already uses Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, Google Chat is the natural place for data too.
Tips for agencies
Use Spaces, not DMs. Google Chat Spaces let multiple people from the client's team see the report. DMs are one-to-one and easy to lose.
Keep it simple. Google Chat doesn't have Slack's threading depth. Send one clean chart per delivery rather than bundling five metrics into one message.
Pair with email for executives. The marketing team gets the Google Chat update. The CFO gets a monthly email. Same data, different audience.
