Native MCP integration
Works seamlessly with Claude Desktop and Cursor IDE
What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external data sources and tools. It allows Claude to securely access your Chartcastr data directly from Claude Desktop or compatible IDEs like Cursor.
With MCP, Claude can read your chart sources, check delivery schedules, and retrieve AI insights - all while keeping your API key secure on your local machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
What applications support MCP?
MCP is supported by Claude Desktop (macOS and Windows) and Cursor IDE. More applications are adding MCP support regularly.
Is my API key secure?
Yes. Your API key is stored locally in your configuration file and never leaves your machine except when making API calls. Chartcastr never sees your Claude conversations.
Can I create connections through Claude?
Currently, you can view and query your data. Creating new connections requires OAuth and is done through the Chartcastr dashboard.
Do I need to install anything?
The MCP server runs via npx, so you just need Node.js installed. The configuration is done through a JSON file in Claude Desktop's config directory.
What if verification fails?
Make sure your API key is correctly set in the environment variable, and restart Claude Desktop after making config changes. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes.
