Internal Slack Channels for Agency Data QA Before Client Delivery

See it before your client does

Automated reporting is great until a chart goes out with bad data or a confusing metric. Internal Slack channels give your team a preview window.

The idea: send the same Pulse to an internal channel first. Your team reviews it. If something looks off, you catch it before the client sees it.

How to set it up

Create an internal review channel

Make a private channel in your workspace like #internal-client-reports or #qa-reports. This is for your team only.

Duplicate the Pulse schedule

Set up a Pulse that sends to the internal channel at the same time (or slightly before) the client-facing Pulse. Your account manager or strategist checks it each morning.

Review and respond

When the chart lands in the internal channel, your team can:

  • Verify the numbers look reasonable
  • Read the AI summary and flag anything misleading
  • Prepare talking points for the next client call
  • Tag team members if something needs action

When this matters most

New client onboarding. The first few weeks of automated reporting for a new client are the most important. You want to make sure the metrics, cadence, and formatting are right before the client sees them.

Campaign launches. When a big campaign goes live, data can look weird for the first few days. Internal QA lets you contextualize before the client panics.

After source changes. If a client changes their ad account structure or adds new products, charts might shift. Better to catch that internally.

A lightweight QA workflow

You don't need a formal review process. Most agencies do something simple:

  1. Pulse lands in #internal-client-reports at 7:30am
  2. Account manager glances at it during their morning routine
  3. Client-facing Pulse goes out at 8:00am
  4. If something's off, they pause the client Pulse and investigate

This takes a minute or two per client. It's a small investment for peace of mind.

Get started

Create an internal Pulse targeting your team's Slack channel. Set it to fire 30 minutes before the client-facing delivery.
